Ms. Merlin likes that she has a house finally. We moved in a few months ago and it has been a long winter but the Parrots For Peace have been going to many local events including a recent Martin Luther King, Jr. commemoration in Woodstock and a Sierra Club member presentation at Boughton Place in Highland. the family was off to do their environmental ambassadorial work of meeting friends. I do not know whether or not it will actually result in a hatching as the internal house temperature is about 75 degrees (but she keeps the egg warm with her belly feathers surrounding it as she rotates it several times an hour and vocalizes operatically to the egg to give it sound stimulation). Generally the hatching would be in about 30 days so I’ll keep you posted. I am wishing Ms. Merlin very good luck on her decision to add a new member to our family. I take this as a great sign that she is delighted to know that we are at the first step of getting a foundation launched for Parrots For Peace to have a reliable forever habitat for them at their home in Ruby, NY. We’ll be doing peace communications programs starting in a short while.
